Creator's Cafe 40. Megan Green - Embracing Power in Heartbreak

Happy Friday Reader,
Sometimes you're in the hard part. Right now, I'm watching a CrossFit competition where Kyle and other friends from our gym are competing in 6 really intense workouts over 3 days. They are doing great, and it's so inspiring and intense to see people push themselves to their limits.
​
But as much as it inspiring to watch from the sideline, when you're in the thick of it, life can feel gnarly. People here have bust up their hands already and are choosing to carry on, patching up a bloody palm. But for a lot of us, life can feel like that on the inside.
​
My guest Megan Green, in addition to being another badass friend from my gym, is an incredible screen writer. In this episode we talk about how one of her favorite mentors says the people who are most likely to succeed are those who deal well with heartbreak.
​
And I think Megan's scripts create beautiful characters who she puts in the thick of life and situations where the heartbreak threatens to overwhelm. But then she gives them the power to transcend and transform their tough times into beautiful moments.
​
So whether you are on an internal journey where you are trying to create inspiring art and life moments for yourself or an external one where you're just trying to lift a really heavy barbell, I wish you all the power and resilience that Megan writes for her characters.

But for right now I'm going to grab this iced mocha and wander to the beach and watch my beautiful fit friends work out under the palm trees. Sometimes life isn't a struggle, so I hope you enjoy those moments too!
